My first blog is dedicated to my very good friend Nick. We became friends through our mutual appreciation of Lesbian romance novels and doing cross stitch by firelight.
I was forced to go to the cinema with Nick by my [then] flatmate Leila. Leila had decided that i needed a gay best friend and that Nick was the perfect man for the job, I was a tad dubious as i thought he looked like a total cunt. Anywho off to the cinema I trotted to see a Lindsay Lohan film about being lucky, or not being lucky or some crap with my [soon to be] gay best friend. Let me just point out that the film was not my choice. I am a little awkward with people when I first meet them so I was worried that i would have nothing interesting to say after we had deconstructed the cinematic masterpiece we had just witnessed. Turns out I had loads to say, the conversation between Nick and I just flowed [fucked if i can remember what we spoke about]. Strange thing is we seemed to become instant best buds and much cinema going, drinking, dancing, being brilliant and being amazing was to follow over the next year. Now I realize that story is 100% boring but it means alot to me and I cherish that day.
One particular moment always springs to mind when I think of Nick. We were sitting in a resturant called rancho relaxo [I dont think it was actually called that] and discussing if Michael Stipe had Aids or not, Nicks reply still makes me guffaw to this day, he said:
"Well of course he has Aids, he's a vegan"
Now you may think this makes Nick sound like a bitch and that he is offensive of many levals but fuck you cause this moment was golden.
I wish I could see Nick everyday, but alas its been a year now since I last saw his glorious face. I literally miss him everyday, maybe not all day everyday but everyday ill have a moment.
So heres to you Nick a true best friend. Its a shame your so butters.
